More Than 38,000 Job Seekers Helped by Way to Work Street Day

On March 25th and 26th, Adecco Group hosted its annual Way to Work Street Day, an event aimed at raising awareness for and decreasing worldwide youth unemployment.

In 54 countries around the globe and in 127 cities in the United States alone, more than 8,000 Adecco colleagues contributed to the cause by hosting interactive career fairs on over 500 college campuses worldwide – and by offering career training at open house events. Career advice topics included resume enhancement, interviewing skills, LinkedIn profile optimization and job search techniques, which you can peruse in our Way to Work Career Center.

Here in the US, we provided over 38,000 future and current job seekers with the skills they need to succeed!

In addition to benefitting from real-world career advice straight from industry experts, students also had the opportunity to tout their “dream job” and to apply for Adecco’s CEO for One Month internship program. More than 1,100 students have thrown their hat in the ring to be considered for the opportunity – a $10,000 paid internship where one lucky winner will experience firsthand what it’s like to run a multi-billion dollar organization.

Making an impact.

The statistics say a lot about the success of this year’s Way to Work program, but what’s most exciting to the team here at Adecco is the impact we’ve made on the lives of those we’ve helped. More than 17,000 participants felt compelled to talk about their experience on social media platforms. Others shared their experience more personally. One job seeker in Atlanta had tears in her eyes when she told an Adecco colleague, “You helped me fix my resume! It’s great!!” And another told us, “It inspired and motivated job seekers to think of job-seeking differently. It was like a retreat, I feel rejuvenated!”

Beyond the countless words of gratitude, to see a college student thoughtfully observe our “dream wall” (where students could quickly jot down their hopeful occupation), and then to see that look turn to sheer happiness and satisfaction after putting their  dream job in writing was truly a rewarding experience for our Adecco colleagues. All of this is what drives us to sponsor Way to Work Street Day.
