Adecco “Jailbirds” Break Fundraising Record for the Idaho MDA

“Lock-Up” Overview

On May 14th, the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA) Idaho office hosted its monthly “Lock-Up” event, locking up numerous business leaders in the Eagle/Meridian area for an hour at a time in order to raise money for local families with muscle disease. From 11:00 am to 2:00 pm, these businessmen and women were no longer leaders in their community, instead assuming the roles of hardened “jailbirds.” In order to be freed from their charitable incarceration, the event attendees had to raise money for their bail with the help of friends and family. May’s event raised $51,456.56, setting a record for the Idaho branch of the MDA. The proceeds from this event help to fund Idaho’s MDA clinic, support groups, and summer camps, as well as repairs for wheelchairs and leg braces.

Adecco Gives Back

MDA branches across the country help to fund research to find treatments and cures for 43 different neuromuscular diseases. At Adecco, we are committed to the support of organizations like the MDA who work tirelessly to improve lives everyday. We are particularly proud of the fact that $25,828 out of the $51,456.56 total was raised by “jailbirds” who had been recruited by local Adecco recruitment centers. Not only was this a significant contribution to a record-breaking amount, but also enough money to send 32 kids to an MDA summer camp. We could not be happier to have assisted in the placement of such good-natured “delinquents”!

Congratulations to MDA Idaho and to our Adecco recruitment centers in Idaho who have demonstrated a commitment to helping families living with muscle disease by doing their best to make MDA events successful!
